AI SEO FAQ

How can I get my business to show up in ChatGPT search?

Start with a public page that clearly explains the service, where you provide it and what customers can verify about your work. Check that OpenAI’s search crawler can access the page. Then test questions a buyer could ask without naming your company.

Check the page a buyer should find

Open your main service page in a signed-out browser. It should load normally and show your offer and coverage in readable text. Check your robots.txt for OAI-SearchBot and ask your hosting provider whether a firewall or bot rule blocks it. Robots.txt permission alone cannot fix a firewall denial.

For example, an Austin HVAC company that wants more heat pump installations needs a page that explains which systems it installs, which areas it visits and what happens before a quote. Its name, coverage and contact details should agree with the public profiles it actually uses.

Give buyers something they can verify

Add a real installation example, applicable qualifications or a customer review that supports the service. Explain what the example proves. A photo of an installed unit with the job type and the work performed tells a buyer more than a gallery without captions.

Try a question such as “Which companies install heat pumps in Austin and explain what is included in the quote?” Note whether your business is named and which URLs the answer cites. If it cites a directory or a different page, inspect those sources before deciding what to change.
